Phoenix ,AZ : 3-year-old girl ejected in collision and 14-year-old driver was intoxicated on Monday morning ,July 13th 2015

Phoenix police say a 14-year-old was driving a car that collided with an SUV, critically injuring a 3-year-old girl and a man.

Officer James Holmes says the girl was ejected from the SUV which the man was driving and which overturned.

A woman riding in the SUV was less seriously injured in the accident that occurred Monday morning at Van Buren Street and 67th Avenue.

Holmes says the 14-year-old was under the influence of alcohol and has been booked on several counts of DUI-related aggravated assault.

According to Holmes, a 17-year-old passenger in the car had also consumed alcohol before the collision.

Meanwhile, police say the 3-year-old was not properly restrained in a working car seat.

Holmes says the car the teens were driving was not stolen.
