BEDFORD, PA : Bedford bicyclist killed in crash at Route 220 in Bedford Township on Tuesday, 29th January 2019

A Bedford man was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a vehicle as he was riding his bicycle on Business Route 220 in Bedford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Devin Chase Clark, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:58 a.m. crash by Bedford County Coroner Rusty Styer.

State police said Clark was not wearing a helmet and did not have safety lights when he was struck from behind by a northbound 2010 Ford Focus operated by Austin Alan Coolidge, 21, of Saxton.

Police said the accident that occurred in the area of Battery Boys business remains under investigation.

Bedford Volunteer Fire Department, Bedford EMS and PennDot personnel assisted at the scene.
