Reno, NV : Unhitched trailer kills one in crash on 580 at Mt. Rose Hwy on April, Thursday 6th 2017

One person is dead after a trailer unhitched from a truck driving on Interstate 580 at Mount Rose Highway Thursday morning.

According to Trooper Dan Gordon with the Nevada Highway Patrol, at around 9 a.m., the utility trailer unhitched and zig-zagged across the road. The driver of the car following the truck was unable to swerve when the trailer unhitched. The car was struck, and the driver died on scene.

According to Gordon, the truck driver stayed on scene.

All roads have since reopened.
