An 11-year-old boy in Laurel was thrown from his bicycle Saturday when he was hit from behind by a minivan whose driver then fled the scene, Anne Arundel County police said.
The boy was hospitalized at Johns Hopkins Pediatrics Emergency Department with non-life-threatening injures, and is listed as stable.
He was riding his bike with his father, going with the flow of westbound traffic, in the 3500 block Whiskey Bottom Road when he was hit, at about 6:30 p.m., police said. The westbound side of that block does not have a sidewalk.
