Mason City,IA : Mason City man injured in motorcycle crash on August, Saturday 12th 2017

A Mason City man was transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa for injuries after a motorcycle crash in rural Cerro Gordo County Saturday evening.

Thomas Peter Paulsen, 55, was “traveling too fast” westbound into a sharp curve near the intersection of 300th Street and Raven Avenue at 6:22 p.m. when he lost control of his 1994 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail, flipped his motorcycle and was ejected into the ditch, according to a news release from the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office. He sustained several injuries.

Paulsen is in fair condition, a hospital spokesperson said Monday.

He was cited for failure to maintain control.

Mason City Fire Medics assisted at the scene.
