CALDWELL, ID : Motorcycle driver killed in crash on State Highway 19, west of Caldwell on Sunday, 11th August 2019

A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday.

Idaho State Police investigated the crash at 6:21 a.m. on State Highway 19, west of Caldwell in Canyon County.

Police say Medardo Rios, 58, of Nampa was exiting Simplot attempting to cross state Highway 19 in a 2002 Ford Ranger when he struck a 2009 Honda motorcycle driven by Kenneth Olsen, 55, of Caldwell.Olsen was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene from his injuries, police say.

Olsen was wearing a helmet. Rios was wearing a seat belt, according to police.

The highway was blocked for about two hours during the investigation.
