SOUTH EUCLID, OH : 2 road workers struck by vehicle in South Euclid hit-and-run crash on Thursday, 28th March 2019
Two people on a line-painting crew were struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning while working on Cedar Road in South Euclid.
It happened near the intersection with Green Road just after 3 a.m.
The driver fled the scene, but the vehicle involved was later found at Route 91 between Cedar Road and Gates Mills Boulevard, where it struck a utility pole on Gilmore School property.Police say the suspect, a 64-year-old Richfield man, was hospitalized in critical condition.
The two TraffTech workers, identified as a 54-year-old Rocky River man and a 46-year-old Elyria man, are both in critical condition. Police had not provided their names.
Cedar Road, which was closed for several hours after the incident, has since reopened.
