Chandler, AZ : 3 seriously injured in rollover near Val Vista Road and Hunt Highway on Sunday, 29th March, 2020

Three people were seriously injured early Sunday in a rollover crash in Chandler, police said.

The crash occurred just after 3 a.m. near Val Vista Road and Hunt Highway when a car went into the dirt shoulder and then rolled over as the driver attempted to get back onto the roadway, said Chandler Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jason McClimans.

Five kids and two adults were in the car. McClimans said two of the kids were ejected from the car during the crash.

Three people were taken a hospital with serious injuries that were not life threatening, according to McClimans. It's unclear if the two children ejected from the car were among those taken to a hospital.

Police say the driver, identified as 21-year-old Michelle Andrade, likely was impaired at the time of the crash. Andrade was arrested on suspicion of numerous counts of driving under the influence-related aggravated assault and engagement counts, McClimans said.
