WILSON MILLS, NC : 1 dead, fuel tanker burns in head-on NC crash on Tuesday, 9th April 2024

A gas tanker was gutted by flames Tuesday afternoon after a deadly head-on crash in Johnston County that closed the road until early Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred on N.C. 39 near Meadowbrook Lane, which is about eight miles north of Selma. It resulted in a large fire that burned the tanker and a nearby resident’s yard.
It is unclear at this time what caused the collision but it was a head-on wreck that left one person dead, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. A gray sedan that had major damage was off the road near the burning tanker.
