Victoria, TX : Two people injured in rollover crash near Yoakum early Tuesday, June 28, 2016
A two-vehicle wreck near Yoakum sent two people to the hospital early Tuesday.
Favian Martin Ramirez, 38, was driving a 2001 Mack Concrete Mixer east on Carl Ramert Drive about 8 a.m. when he attempted to make a right turn on Farm-to-Market Road 318 E at a yield intersection, said Department of Public Safety spokesman Trooper Ruben San Miguel.
Ramirez was driving too fast to make the turn. The concrete mixer rolled onto the driver's side, slid across the roadway and struck a 2007 Dodge silver pickup. Johnny Gonzales, 63, was driving the pickup, which spun around in the roadway.
Both Ramirez and Gonzales were transported to a hospital in Yoakum with non-life threatening injuries, San Miguel said.
Ramirez was ticketed for traveling at an unsafe speed.
