Bridgeport, CT : Milford woman killed in a crash on I-91 in Enfield early Monday morning, June 13, 2016
A Milford woman was killed in a crash early Monday morning on I-91 in Enfield, and her partner was injured, State Police said.
Caroline Mcallister, 48, of 43 Darina Place, was a passenger on a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling south near Exit 48 when it was struck in the rear by a Ford, throwing her onto the shoulder of the highway, according to the accident report.
Mcallister was transported by ambulance to Bay State Hospital in Springfield, Mass. following the 12:07 a.m. crash, where she was pronounced dead.
The motorcycle operator, Randal Lee Ruelle, 49, also of 43 Darina Place in Milford, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, where he was admitted with serious injuries.
The driver of the Ford, Brett Verona, 26, of Windsor Locks, was not injured.
State Police said that Ruelle and Mcallister were in the right travel lane, and Verona was in the center lane, and the vehicles collided as Verona moved into the right lane. The accident remains under investigation.
