Lee County, IA : One person injured after a Three-vehicle crash at Highway 61 and Pleasant Grove Road on Monday evening, November 28, 2016

On Monday evening at approximately 5:25, the Des Moines County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with injuries at Highway 61 and Pleasant Grove Road in Lee County, Iowa.

When deputies arrived, the drivers of the vehicles were identified as Michael Laughlin, age 65 of Burlington, Iowa, Emily Garcia, age 34 of Burlington, and Louise Mcnamee, age 72 of Sperry, Iowa.

An investigation found that Mcnamee attempted to turn around on Highway 61 and failed to see Laughlin who was traveling southbound on Highway 61 causing Laughlin to strike Mcnamee's vehicle.

Laughlin’s vehicle then moved across the highway and struck Garcia's vehicle while she was stopped at the intersection.

Mcnamee was transported to GRMC with non-life threatening injuries. The other drivers suffered no injuries and were released from the scene.

The Des Moines County Sheriffs Office was assisted on the scene by Mediapolis Fire Department and Mediapolis Ambulance.
