A passenger was hospitalized after a three-vehicle accident in southeast Goshen Thursday night.Diamond Gayden, 21, of Goshen, was transported by EMS from the accident on U.S. 33 at Fairfield Avenue for a complaint of head pain and difficulty breathing. She was taken to Goshen Hospital.The accident occurred around 11:19 p.m. when a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by a 16-year-old Goshen man struck a 2010 Chevy Cobalt driven by David Kroetz, 26, of Goshen, from behind, according to Goshen police. The teenager's vehicle was then struck from behind by a 1995 Chevy pickup truck driven by Jonathon Nelson, 18, of Elkhart.Gayden was a passenger in Kroetz's vehicle.Kroetz told officers he was stopped in the northbound lane waiting to turn left, with his lights and turn signal on. The teen said he didn't see the vehicle because neither its lights nor turn signal were on, and that he tried to slam on his brakes but didn't have enough time.Nelson told police he saw the vehicle ahead of him hit its brakes but didn't have enough time to stop himself.Nobody else was reported injured in the accident and everyone was said to be wearing seat belts. Damage was estimated to be in the $5000 to $10,000 range.
