Benson ,AZ : 34-year-old Craig Schuetta killed in Two Vehicle Crash after semi-truck and a pickup truck along Interstate 10 on Monday ,March 23rd 2015

The crash, which occurred shortly after 5 p.m., involved a commercial semi-truck and a pickup truck, said an Arizona Department of Public Safety official.

The victim was identified by DPS as 34-year-old Craig Schuetta of Sierra Vista.

The semi, traveling eastbound, was pulled off to the right of the freeway to allow an emergency vehicle with lights and sirens to pass on the inside lane. The semi pulled back into the outside lane of travel and was rear-ended by the pickup truck, according to a department news release.

Mescal Fire District firefighters responded to the scene.

The eastbound lanes on I-10 were closed and traffic was rerouted through Sonoita on back to the interstate through Monday night.

Westbound I-10 traffic was not affected.
