Shreveport, LA : Pedestrian killed in accident in north Shreveport Saturday night on July 12, 2014

Police are investigating the death of a woman who was hit by a car late Saturday night in North Shreveport.

Officers were called to the scene on North Hearne Avenue just south of its intersection with North Aero Dr. just after 11:30 p.m. for a report of crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. They arrived to find the woman had been fatally injured. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her name has not yet been released

Based on information gathered at the scene, investigators believe the woman had been walking southbound in a lane of travel on North Hearne Ave. when she was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet operated by 34-year-old Brian Wilson of Shreveport. Wilson’s vehicle was traveling southbound at the time of the crash.

Police say Wilson voluntarily submitted to routine tests for impairment and at this point investigators do not believe he was impaired in any way.
