HIGH POINT, NC : 3 injured after school bus, car crash into house on Meredith Street near the intersection with Oneka Avenue on Tuesday, 8th January 2019

Three people were injured in a crash involving a school bus and a car in High Point, according to a news release from High Point police.

The crash happened on Meredith Street near the intersection with Oneka Avenue around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

A 2015 Chrysler 200 was headed east on Oneka Avenue and ran a stop sign at the Meredith Street intersection, the release said. The school bus was headed north on Meredith Street and hit the Chrysler on the passenger side.

Both vehicles then hit an unoccupied house at 1601 Oneka Ave.

The bus, No. 1331, is from Oakview Elementary, according to Guilford County Schools Public Information Officer Connie Mayberry. The bus driver and one student were on board.

The two people in the Chrysler were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The bus driver was also taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

The student was not injured.
