San Marcos, CA : Teen crashes Mustang into metal pole in San Marcos on Friday, January 9, 2015
The teenage driver of a classic muscle car crashed it into a metal pole along a San Marcos roadway, trapping himself inside, a sheriff's deputy said Saturday.
The 18-year-old driver of a 1965 Ford Mustang apparently lost control while trying to avoid another vehicle on a curve on eastbound Mission Road near Mission Hills Court shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday, sheriff's Deputy Tammy Bennetts said.
The Mustang spun out, jumped the curb and crashed into a large metal pole, Bennetts said. The driver was trapped inside with injuries to his head and left side, she said.
He was freed from the wreckage and was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Bennetts said.
