Greenville, S.C : 62-year-old man died, two injured in a head-on collision on Pumpkintown Highway near Pickens on Monday, March 13, 2017

The Pickens County coroner has identified the man who was killed in a head-on collision that also sent two people to the hospital Monday.

The decedent was identified as Donald Durham, a 62-year-old from Easley, said Coroner Kandy Kelley in a news statement.

The incident happened on Pumpkintown Highway near Pickens about 11:45 a.m., according to Trooper Joe Hovis of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Durham was driving a 2006 Ford pickup and didn't have a seat belt on, Hovis said.

The driver of the Ford ran off the right side of the road, over-corrected and then crossed over center line and hit a 2002 Jeep traveling in the opposite direction.

Glenda Estelle Thomas, 44, from Pickens and a 79-year-old passenger, Linda Thomas, were taken to Greenville Hospital System.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, Kelley said.
