Searsburg, VT : Woman escapes injury in crash on Friday, November 21, 2014
A New York woman escaped injury after police said her vehicle skidded off a slick road in Searsburg and crashed into a guardrail.
Bridget Pryal, 26, of Albany, N.Y., was driving east on Route 9 around 10 a.m. Friday on her way to New Hampshire when she noticed the road was getting icy and wind was blowing snow across the roadway, according to Vermont State Police.
As she slowed down, police said, her 2005 Pontiac Sunfire lost traction and smashed into a guardrail along the northern edge of the road. The vehicle then spun before coming to a stop in the middle of the road, police said.
Pryal was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and the vehicle’s airbag deployed, police said.
The car was destroyed in the crash, according to police.
