Clarksville, TN : One person killed in a wrong-way collision in Montgomery County that closed Interstate 24 East early Wednesday morning, March 2, 2016

A fatal wrong-way crash snarled traffic along Interstate 24 in Clarksville on Wednesday morning.

Sgt. Travis Plotzer with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said a car was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes when it collided with a commercial vehicle near mile marker 8 around 1:20 a.m.

One person inside the car was killed. Officials are still working to identify the victim.

The interstate was closed for hours as officials investigated the scene and cleaned up diesel fuel.
