Two dead in early morning accident on Meriweather Trail

Alabama State Troopers confirm that an early morning, two vehicle accident on Meriweather Trail has claimed the lives of two people.
The apparent head-on collision took the lives of each driver, and there were no passengers in either car.

Authorities say the accident happened around 7:40 a.m. approximately one mile east of U.S. 231 and 20 miles south of Montgomery.Gina Lindsey, 55, of Pine Level and William Rhodes, 44, of Troy were killed when their vehicles collided.

Troopers say the cause of this crash is still under investigation.
