Marysville, CA : Woodland woman dead and four others injured in a two vehicle crash at Highway 113 On Friday, August 12th, 2016
A two-car, five-person crash Friday evening left one Woodland woman dead and four others injured.
Around 5 p.m. on Highway 113, north of Leiser Road, Knights Landing, a 25-year-old Woodland woman driving a 2008 Honda southbound with a 1-month-old, 3-year-old and 18-year-old pulled to the west shoulder and came to a stop. She then made a U-turn directly in front of an approaching GMC Sierra, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of the truck, Woodlander Alec Penning, 21, applied his brakes but could not avoid colliding with the left side of the Honda, the CHP press release read.
All four passengers of the Honda were transported to UC Davis, but the driver did not survive. Noelia Salinas, 18, also of Woodland, was reported to have major injuries. The identities of the driver and the young passengers — as well as their injuries — were not released. Penning was treated on scene with minor injuries.
