Cortlandville, NY : Bronx man crashes car in Cortlandville on April, wednesday 26th 2017
A Bronx man was arrested in Cortlandville on Wednesday after driving over 100 miles per hour, giving troopers a fake name and then fleeing the scene, according to New York State Police.
Just after 3:00 p.m. troopers pulled over 21-year Noel J. Budram on Interstate 81 for allegedly driving over 100 mph in a 65 mph zone.
State Police say Budram provided them with a false name while being interviewed and then took off in his 2017 Toyota Corolla.
He led troopers on a short pursuit which ended after he lost control of his car and crashed into a guide rail while trying to exit the highway, authorities say.
After the crash, Budram attempted to flee officers on foot, but was taken into custody after a brief pursuit. He now faces charges of reckless endangerment, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, false impersonation, obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest.
After further investigating, troopers found that Budram had a warrant out for his arrest for avoiding parole.
Budram was arraigned in court and sent to the Cortland County Jail without bail.
Troopers say Budram had two passengers in his car at the time of the crash, but no one was injured.
