Mount Union, Pa : man killed in crash on state Route 22 in Henderson Township on Wednesday, 2nd January 2019

A Mount Union man was killed in a head-on vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m. today on state Route 22 in Henderson Township, Huntingdon County.According to a report from Pennsylvania State Police in Huntingdon, Pulat Kapitonov, 40, of Pittsburgh, was traveling west on state Route 22 in a 2018 Volvo semi-trailer when he entered a turning lane and suddenly attempted to turn left, striking a 2005 Subaru operated by Zachary Ray Morris, 21, of Mount Union.
Kapitonov was uninjured in the crash, but Morris sustained fatal injuries. Both the east and westbound lanes of travel were closed while emergency personnel responded to the scene. The roadway later reopened at approximately 3:40 p.m. Wednesday.
