CHEEKTOWAGA, NY : Car crash forces closure of Walden Avenue near Pine Ridge on Monday, 22nd February 2021

A serious crash closed Walden Avenue, between Pine Ridge Road and Gualbert, for several hours.

Cheektowaga police say one person was thrown from the car, after hitting a utility pole and a building, just before 4:00 a.m. Monday.

Police have not identified the female victim. They say the victim is in critical condition at Erie County Medical Center.

Police say there were "multiple people in the car." The driver has been arrested for driving while intoxicated. The driver's name has not been released.
