Mesa, AZ : Pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash on the eastern outskirts of the Phoenix metro area on Thursday, March 10, 2016

Maricopa County authorities are looking for a hit-and-run vehicle involved in an early morning accident that killed a pedestrian on the eastern outskirts of the Phoenix metro area.

The Sheriff's Office says the accident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday on West Southern Avenue near South Meredian Road.

The only available description of the vehicle is that it's white in color except that the Sheriff's Office says it possibly has damage on the front passenger side.

The vehicle was heading east on Southern when the accident occurred.

No indication about the victim has been released.
