Darke County, OH : One in serious condition after Darke County crash on Tuesday morning, October 28, 2014
A Gettysburg man was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Darke County Tuesday morning.
Michael Whittaker, 33, was thrown from the car in the accident at U.S. 127 and Childrens Home-Bradford Road, according to Deputy Mark Garbig of the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
Whittaker was in the passenger’s seat of a red 2005 Dodge Neon when the driver, Amy Henning, 24, failed to yield at a stop sign around 11:27 a.m., according to the Darke County Sheriff’s office. Henning’s vehicle was hit by a maroon 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Catalina Sargenti, 28, of Greenville.
Whittaker was flown to Miami Valley Hospital after the accident and was in serious condition Wednesday night.
Whittaker was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, Garbig said.
Henning’s 4-year-old daughter was restrained with a child safety seat in the back seat of the vehicle.
Sargenti, Henning, and Henning’s 4-year-old daughter were treated and released from Wayne Healthcare, according to Deputy Garbig.
Henning was cited in the accident, Sheriff’s reports said.
