Fairfield,CA : I-80 crash injures 4, including CHP officer on April, Monday 30th 2018

A California Highway Patrol officer was among those injured when a car slammed into his parked cruiser on eastbound Interstate 80 Monday in Fairfield, a crash that also marred the afternoon commute.

The crash happened at approximately 3:40 p.m. just west of Red Top Road as the CHP officer’s car was parked on the right shoulder of the freeway.


A male driving a Mitsubishi Mirage smashed into the back of the parked CHP cruiser, scattering debris across part of the roadway and the median and seriously injuring the three people in the Mirage, the CHP reports. The CHP officer had what the CHP described as minor injuries.
