WILLIAMSBURG, NY : Man killed in hit-and-run crash involving MTA bus in Brooklyn on Monday, 26th February 2024

The driver of a Mercedes-Benz slammed into an MTA bus, killing his passenger as he fled the Williamsburg, Brooklyn, crash on foot.

The crash happened at around 9:45 p.m. Monday on the corner of Harrison Avenue and Lorimer Street.

Police say a red Mercedes Benz sedan was headed south on Harrison Avenue when the driver ran a red light. The sedan collided then with an MTA bus.

The victim, later identified as 33-year-old Alex Caba-Guitierrez, was ejected from the sedan. Authorities say he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The driver of the sedan fled the scene.
