Dallas, TX : Woman killed in multi-vehicle crash on I-30 in Dallas Thursday morning on June 5, 2014
A deadly crash shut down westbound Interstate 30 in Dallas during rush hour Thursday morning.
Police said the multi-vehicle crash happened around 4:30 a.m. just west of Jim Miller Road.
One car slammed into the back of another car that had just had a blowout. Then, another car swerved to avoid the accident and ended up in the path of an 18-wheeler.
The female driver of that car was killed on impact, police said.
No one else was hurt.
Police said the male driver who first hit the disabled car ran away from the crash. Officers are still searching for him.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a muscular build. He was wearing jeans and is believed to have suffered a head injury.
The accident caused major delays for commuters. All westbound lanes of Interstate 30 were shut down between St. Frances Avenue and Jim Miller Road until about 8 a.m.
