Uniondale, NY : One person was died in a car crash on Long Island on early Monday morning September 22nd 2014

Authorities say at least one person has died in a car crash on Long Island. The southbound lanes of the Meadowbrook State Parkway near Uniondale are closed while police investigate. State police say the accident occurred just after midnight Monday around the Hempstead Turnpike exit. Southbound lanes of the Meadowbrook are closed between Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale and the South State Parkway in North Merrick. A badly mangled car could be seen in the woods off the parkway.
