Cedar City, UT: I-15 crash sends 5 to hospital on Friday, July 31st 2015

Five people were taken by ambulance to the hospital following a collision on southbound Interstate 15 Friday afternoon.Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Dan Ferguson said a minivan swerved out of the No. 1 lane. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which went a little bit broadside on the travel lane where the passenger side was hit by a white pickup coming down the freeway.The crash was reported about 4:42 p.m.Ferguson said the impact occurred "basically on the passenger door" and the front fender.Inside the van were two women, two young girls and a baby.The woman in the passenger seat had glass cuts on her arm and shoulder, Ferguson said, adding the older of the two young girls just recently had brain surgery.
