Berlin, N.H : Merrimack man injured in ATV crash at Jericho Mountain State Park on Monday, June 27, 2016

A Merrimack man was injured in an ATV crash Monday at Jericho Mountain State Park in Berlin.

Fish and Game officials said Joseph Medeiros, 53, suffered injuries when his ATV malfunctioned while riding along Brook Road.

The ATV's wheel and driveshaft fell apart, causing Medeiros to stop short and flip over.

Those riding nearby scrambled into action after the ATV landed on top of Medeiros, officials said. They were able to push the vehicle off of him.

Medeiros suffered minor injuries. He was treated at the scene.

Officials said more serious injuries were avoided because Medeiros was wearing a helmet.
