Mesa, AZ : Doctor killed in car crash on U.S. 60 near Stapley Drive on Tuesday morning, January 5, 2016
A Mesa doctor was killed in a Tuesday morning accident after her vehicle was rear-ended on the freeway, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Tim Case, DPS public information officer, said Cynthia Goralnik, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was reportedly driving a small convertible east on U.S. 60 near Stapley Drive when she was rear-ended by an SUV.
Case said she was a doctor with SimonMed Imaging in Mesa and was a highly-regarded radiologist considered to be among the best in her field.
The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
