Lubbock,TX : 5 people, including 4 teens, injured in South Lubbock crash on January, Monday 8th 2018
Four teenagers were injured two of them seriously in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in South Lubbock.
The crash involving a car and pickup truck was reported before 6 p.m. in the 3000 block of 114th Street, according to Lubbock police.
Investigators believe a Hyundai Elantra was travelling west when the driver lost control and moved into the eastbound lanes. A Chevrolet pickup truck travelling east attempted to avoid colliding with the car, but was unsuccessful, according to police.
The four occupants of the car were taken to the hospital. Two occupants, an 18-year-old and 17-year-old, had moderate injuries. The other two, both 16 years old, were transported with serious injuries, prompting the Lubbock Police Department Accident Investigation unit to respond. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.
The crash forced a closure of all eastbound and westbound lanes of 114th Street between University Avenue and Indiana Avenue. The crash remained under investigation late Monday.
