A Batesburg man is dead after being hit by a van in Batesburg-Leesville late Tuesday night.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the victim as 27-year-old Ryan Kneece. He died at the scene.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 178 around 10 p.m.
The Highway Patrol says since Kneece was walking in the middle of the road when he was hit, the driver will not be charged. The driver was not injured.
