Omaha,KY : Former Wednesday's Child hit, killed by car on January, Wednesday 24th 2018

Family and loved ones are mourning the loss of a foster teenager struck and killed by a car in Oldham County.
The accident happened on Jan. 18 on Highway 146 in Crestwood.
Cynthia Smith, 18, was rushed to University Hospital, and two days later she was pronounced dead.

Smith was a foster child and appeared on our Wednesday's Child back in 2015. Because of her age when she died, family members said they are now left dealing with funeral expenses.

"She turned 18 on the 13th of January. That aged her out. Therefore, state is not required to help with any of the funding for her funeral," former foster parent Becky Pendergest said.

No charges were filed against the driver in the crash.

On Monday, Gustavo's in LaGrange will donate 10 percent of each bill to her fundraiser. People can also drop off donations at Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home.
