Ravenna, OH : A two-car crash on Route 43 in Twin Lakes in Franklin Township on Thursday, October, 26th 2017

A Streetsboro woman was arrested on an impaired driving charge Friday morning following a two-car crash on Route 43 in Twin Lakes in Franklin Township.

Rosa M. Bogolin, who turned 27 on Thursday, is charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor, and failure to control, a minor misdemeanor, according to the Ravenna post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Highway patrol Sgt. Rich Sprague said both Bogolin and the male driver of a 1999 GMC pickup truck received only minor injuries following a crash on Route 43 near Sylvan Drive.

Traffic was backed up on Route 43 because of the way the vehicles came to rest after the crash, he said. Bogolin was driving a white 2005 Chrysler sedan.

“Both cars were blocking the roadway, which was down to half a lane,” Sprague said.

Both Bogolin and the male driver were transported to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna by the Kent Fire Department.

Lab tests are pending to determine Bogolin’s blood alcohol content or what intoxicants were in her system, Sprague said.

The crash comes only three days after Bogolin was arraigned in Portage County Municipal Court in Kent on four misdemeanor charges, including possession of drugs, two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence and a marked lanes violation following a Sept. 18 arrest by Streetsboro police.

She pleaded not guilty to those charges, and conditions of her bond were no consumption or possession of alcohol or illegal drugs, and no driving until she was eligible and her license was valid.

During the Streetsboro traffic stop, at Russell and Market Square drives at 6:40 a.m. Sept. 18, Bogolin allegedly possessed two 1 mg. clonazepam pills without a prescription, according to Streetsboro police.
