A Gilbert man was killed in a crash on Interstate 20 early Thursday, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the victim as 22-year-old Carlos Hipolito of Gilbert.
The crash happened just before 3:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-20 near mile marker 51 in Lexington County, according to Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins. A 2008 Ford Expedition was traveling west when the vehicle exited the roadway, hit a cable in the median and overturned.
Fisher said Hipolito, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died from traumatic injuries.
