CANTON, OH : 85-year-old Canton man brutally beaten after crash on Monday, 1st March 2021

An 85-year-old man was hospitalized with multiple facial injuries after he was beaten following a car crash Saturday night in Canton, according to police.

The victim, identified as Ralph White, was driving at around 10:40 p.m. in the 2500 block of 8th Street NE when another driver exited a nearby parking lot, crashing into White, police said.

According to Lt. Dennis Garren, police believe the man got out of his vehicle and brutally beat White, who was still inside his car, before driving away.

White was transported to Aultman Hospital with facial injuries and a brain bleed, according to his family. Relatives said White was released late Monday afternoon.
