SHASTA COUNTY, CA : 2 dead in collision near Lassen Park on Thursday, 11th March 2021

Two people died when their vehicle spun out and collided with a pickup truck on Thursday, California Highway Patrol said.

CHP said the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Highway 44 when it lost control going around a curve before hitting the pickup truck traveling westbound.The crash happened about 2 miles east of the Lassen Volcanic National Park entrance on Highway 44.

CHP said they got the call at about 5:41 p.m.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, CHP said.
