Eugene, OR : Longview man, 42, dies in dirt bike crash near Oakridge on Saturday, June 24, 2017

A Longview, Wash., man was killed when he drove his motorcycle into a tree near Oakridge Saturday night, according to a news release from the Oregon State Police.

Cody Marshall, 42, had been riding a 1986 Yamaha dirt bike on a rocky dirt road when he struck the fallen tree on a Forest Service road, police said. A companion called for help, and police were notified of the crash southwest of Oakridge about 9 p.m. They arrived to find that Marshall had died at the crash of his injuries.

No further information about the crash was available Sunday.
