Austin, TX : Car crashes with Pflugerville school bus crash in North Austin on Monday afternoon, January 30, 2017

A vehicle collided with a Pflugerville school bus in North Austin on Monday afternoon, Austin-Travis County EMS officials said.

EMS officials assessed the students on board before deciding not to hospitalize anyone, a Pflugerville school district spokesman said.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. at Howard Lane and Metric Boulevard, EMS officials said.

The bus was Bus No. 44, which was taking students home from Northwest Elementary School, the district spokesman said.

Of the 55 students on board, parents have already picked up about 20 of them, the spokesman said. The rest are waiting on another bus to take them home. School officials are working to notify parents.

If parents want to pick up their child from the crash scene, call the central office at 512-594-000 to confirm that the bus is still there.
