Indianapolis, IN : Pedestrian dies after being struck in hit-and-run on Friday, January 13th 2017

A person has died after being struck in a hit-and-run crash on the city's northeast side Friday night.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers were called to the area of Pendleton Pike and I-465 around 7 p.m., according to police, where a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical condition. The victim later died.

The black vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene, police said. No other description of the striking vehicle was available.
