Taunton woman killed in single-car crash in Woonsocket Rhode Island

Police are investigating after a single-car crash claimed the life of a Taunton woman.Police Lt. Paul Roderick said the victim, 62 year-old Denise Perry, was driving a Hyundai Sonata south on Kingman Street at about 10:30 a.m. Friday when she lost control. The car crossed the center line, hit a utility pole, then spun around and continued in the other direction where it hit a large tree, which fell down onto the car's roof.Perry was flown to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of very serious injuries, but was pronounced dead shortly after 4 p.m.
Hers was the only vehicle involved in the wreck and conditions on the road were clear and dry, Roderick said.The investigation into what caused the wreck continues.
