Natick, MA : Waltham man killed after a two-car crash on Speen Street on Tuesday October 11 2016

A Waltham man was killed after a two-car crash on Speen Street on Tuesday, authorities said.

The 23-year-old man, who authorities did not identify, was driving a Subaru on Speen Street near Timber Lane, when the car collided with an Acura TL, which was driven by an 81-year-old Natick man around 9 p.m. Authorities also did not identify the Natick man.

Authorities said the Subaru then left the road and crashed into a tree. Bystanders pulled the man from the car, and when Natick Police officers arrived, they used an automatic external defibrillator on the man. The fire department took the man to the MetroWest Medical Center in Natick where he was declared dead.

The Natick man was uninjured. A passenger in the Acura was taken to an area hospital to be treated for injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police, Natick Police and the Middlesex County district attorney’s office.
