A woman died and two others, including a pedestrian, are hospitalized in an early Saturday crash on the city's East Side.
A man driving a 1997 Infiniti I30 sedan was speeding eastbound "well in excess" of the 25 mile-per-hour limit about 2:45 a.m. on Wade Park Avenue, Cleveland police said.
The man's car ran a red light and struck a 47-year-old man walking southbound in the crosswalk on East 105th Street. The car kept speeding through the intersection and hit the driver's side of a 2004 Chevrolet Venture van driving northbound on East 105th.
The two vehicles ended up on the north side of Wade Park Avenue. The Infiniti driver got out of his car and walked off, leaving an injured 25-year-old woman in the passenger seat of his car.
The passenger was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with injuries to her neck and back.
The pedestrian was also taken to MetroHealth with a broken femur and neck. He also suffered injuries to his back and had multiple soft-tissue injuries, according to Cleveland police.
The driver of the Chevy van, Keyva Jones, 41, of Cleveland, was taken to University Hospitals, where she was pronounced dead. Cleveland police are searching for the driver of the Infiniti.
