Jasper, TX : Log truck avoids school bus collision, overturns in Jasper County early Monday morning, August 29, 2016
A driver of a log truck suffered minor injuries after overturning her vehicle to avoid a school bus early Monday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The Texas DPS received a call around 6:25 a.m. of an overturned log truck on Highway 63 in Jasper County, Sgt. Stephanie Davis said. She said the crash occurred east of Jasper near Jamestown.
According to Davis, an International log truck was traveling eastbound on Highway 63, and attempted to avoid hitting a stopped school bus in the eastbound traffic lane.
Davis said the driver veered to the left, crossed the center dividing line, struck a mailbox, rolled over and came to rest in the roadway.
The school bus was not involved in the collision and there were no injuries sustained by any of the children on the bus, Davis confirmed.
She also said that the driver of the International log truck, 29-year-old Tracy Howard of Silsbee, refused medical treatment at the crash scene.
This crash is an ongoing investigation.
