One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning on Interstate 94 in Bismarck.
Lori Berger, 51, of St. Anthony, was driving an SUV eastbound on I-94 at about 8 a.m. Wednesday, when her vehicle slipped on the icy road and struck a snowbank next to the cement median barrier, according to a news release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
A Ford pickup driven by Joseph Gullickson, 22, of Mandan, was behind Berger's SUV and slowed down. Another vehicle driven by Austin Diede, 28, of Mandan, saw the pickup brake and tried to stop, but his vehicle slid on the icy road and struck Gullickson's pickup, pushing it into Berger's vehicle.
All three vehicles came to rest in the left eastbound lane.
Diede's vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front end and was lodged underneath the back end of Gullickson's vehicle. Guillickson's pickup and Berger's SUV also had severe damage. All three vehicles were towed from the scene.
