Two high school students and a bus driver suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning in a collision with a commercial truck on Route 140 in Taunton, police said.
Massachusetts State Police troopers responded shortly before 8 a.m. to a crash in the northbound lane of the highway near Exit 11, according to state police spokesman Dave Procopio.
The bus, owned by Amaral Bus Company of Westport, was carrying 35 students to Bristol County Agricultural High School in Dighton. The injured students and driver, a 57-year-old Acushnet woman, were taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton, Procopio said in a statement.The bus was driving in the left lane on Route 140 when a 2014 Isuzu box truck, owned by C2S Development in New Bedford, changed lanes in front of the bus, causing it to hit the box truck, according to Procopio.
The driver of the truck, a 21-year-old New Bedford man, and the passenger, a 34-year-old New Bedford woman, were not injured, State Police said.
